Method
- Use clean prewoven binosa pouches from a skilled maker; this very small wineglass-like form should have no openings along the single-strand weave.
- Rinse the rice well and drain until no water drips from it.
- Fill each tiny pouch only one-third to halfway, using the same measured spoonful for every packet.
- Close the tops firmly and shake gently to settle the rice without compacting it.
- Lower the packets into boiling water and keep them fully submerged.
- Boil 35–45 minutes, turning once so the narrow bases and wider tops cook evenly.
- Open one packet and press a grain from the centre; it should be soft throughout, not white or chalky inside.
- Drain 10 minutes and serve as small rice portions with savoury dishes.
